Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Enterprise Active Directory & Email Services Lead for a fully remote leadership role within a secure federal IT environment in the United States. You will oversee enterprise identity, directory, authentication, and messaging services, guiding a ~12-person team across AD, Entra ID, Exchange, and security operations.

You will drive modernization, automation, and continuous improvement, manage incident response, and coordinate with cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise infrastructure, identity management, messaging, or Microsoft platform operations.
• 5+ years with Active Directory and Microsoft identity services in large-scale hybrid environments.
• 5+ years with Exchange/Exchange Online/Microsoft 365 messaging, SMTP/mail flow, and email security operations.
• 3+ years direct technical team leadership or management experience (teams of 10+).
• Extensive AD architecture knowledge: forests, domains, GPOs, DNS, replication.
• Strong expertise in Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, and modern authentication.
• Experience with hybrid Exchange environments, mail routing, connectors, and security.
• Knowledge of SPF/DKIM/DMARC and email security gateways.
• Active Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
• CompTIA Security+ or DoD IAT Level II-compliant certification required.
• Experience with ITSM processes (incident/problem/change).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~12 engineers and administrators focused on AD, Entra ID, Exchange, and email security.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, staffing, and on-call rotations.
• Set objectives, conduct reviews, and provide coaching and career development.
• Identify skill gaps and drive training, upskilling, certification programs.
• Coordinate with HR on performance and workplace issues as needed.
• Lead regular meetings and knowledge-sharing to raise technical capability.
• Own health, security, and L2/L3 support for AD, Entra ID, ADFS, and hybrid Exchange.
• Govern AD architecture and operations including DNS, replication, and GPOs.
• Oversee Entra ID services: CA, MFA, SSO, and authentication.
• Manage hybrid Exchange and mail flow, connectors, and certificates.
• Strengthen email security with SPF/DKIM/DMARC and anti-phishing controls.
• Drive modernization, automation, and runbook improvements.
