Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting and Staffing is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with Unanet expertise to support core accounting operations for a government contracting organization. This remote role focuses on accurate financial reporting, month-end close, and compliance in a remote environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, GovCon exposure, and strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis, with capability to work effectively in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; GovCon background preferred.
• Unanet experience required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• FAR/CAS/DCAA exposure is a plus.
• Strong Excel, communication, and remote-work capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, billing, reporting).
• Own or support month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Utilize Unanet for project accounting, billing, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance and support internal and external audits.
• Partner with project and program teams on cost tracking and financial insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancements.
