Remote Accountant – Budget & Financial Analyst

Position Overview:

We are a small but growing remote-based chemical distribution company focused on delivering high-quality industrial and specialty chemicals across North America. We seek a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant with expertise in budgeting, financial planning, and cost analysis to help manage our financial health, optimize operations, and support data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and analyze annual budgets and monthly forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions for variances
• Generate financial reports monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Track and manage COGS, vendor payments, and inventory accounting
• Assist with financial modeling, pricing strategies, and margin analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations
• Coordinate with external CPA or tax consultants for filings
• Improve financial processes and controls continuously

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis (experience in distribution or chemicals is a plus)
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and cloud-based accounting tools
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with inventory systems or ERP platforms
• CPA or CMA certification
