Job summary

Stellar Virtual is seeking an Academic Counselor for grades 6-8 to support college, career, and military readiness. This remote role emphasizes mapping student skills to high-demand careers and fostering growth across intellectual, emotional, and social areas.

The position requires a Master’s degree, Texas School Counseling certification, and at least 2 years’ experience in a related field. Remote work and state hiring eligibility apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Active School Counseling certification with the State of Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably remotely.
• Experience using a student information system and/or databases.
• Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).

Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD meetings and provide input for IEPs.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Organize and manage school support operations.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate with parents and students regularly.
• Guide students on benchmarks and testing (TSIA2, TELPAS, STAAR).
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development.
