Job summary

Northeast Iowa Community College seeks a part-time, grant-funded instructor to join the Adult Education and Literacy Team. You will use contemporary, researched-based curriculum to build students’ academic skills for HiSET and/or English for Speakers of Other Languages, guiding them toward education, training, or employment.

Responsibilities include coaching, delivering HSED, ABE and ESOL in-person or remote, guiding students through enrollment, and connecting them to resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; experience teaching ABE, HSED, and ESOL preferred.
• Bilingual and/or Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support and serve students as a college and career coach and instructor.
• Provide HSED, ABE and ESOL for adult learners in face-to-face and remote delivery.
• Assist students in completing orientation and registration processes.
• Develop relationships with students through intake information and educational planning.
• Connect students to resources to determine next steps on their career pathway.
