Job summary

Autism From The Start in Olathe, KS is seeking a Billing Specialist to own claims processing, payments reconciliation, and denial follow-up for ABA, speech therapy, and ASD evaluation services.

You will guide families through financial expectations, handle payment plans with warmth, and drive a clean A/R. This role emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and proactive communication in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years ABA billing experience
• Hands-on CentralReach experience
• Experience billing Kansas Medicaid
• Experience billing for speech therapy services
• Experience billing for psychological/diagnostic evaluations (ASD)
• Knowledge of ABA CPT codes (97151, 97153, 97155, 97156)
• Experience resolving denials and maintaining clean A/R
• Low error rate with meticulous attention to detail
• Warm, clear communication with families about billing
• Self-motivated and able to work remotely

Responsibilities

• Submit accurate claims across payers including Kansas Medicaid for ABA, speech therapy and ASD evaluations
• Reconcile payments and track discrepancies against claims
• Chase denials until resolved and resubmit as needed
• Own accounts receivable and monitor aging claims
• Maintain billing records in CentralReach and ensure data accuracy
• Double-check EVV data matches claims before submission
• Explain billing processes clearly to families with warmth
• Meet families to discuss costs and payment plans as needed
• Flag denial patterns to leadership for process improvements
• Coordinate with authorizations, VOB and credentialing teams when needed
