Second Stories in St. Louis is seeking an experienced Remodeling Carpenter to support residential renovation projects. You will work on finish carpentry, trim installation, cabinetry, and general construction alongside an experienced team.

We value craftsmanship, clean job sites, and honest service. This full-time, 1099 contractor role offers a variety of projects, daytime hours, occasional overtime, and the chance to build lasting relationships with homeowners throughout the St. Louis area.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, or construction.
• Experience with finish carpentry, trim work, or general remodeling.
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure and complete accurate cuts.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to handle a variety of construction and repair tasks.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow project instructions.
• Professional and respectful when working in occupied homes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to residential project sites throughout the St. Louis area.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential remodeling, including standing, bending, climbing, working from ladders, and safely lifting and carrying construction materials and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work on residential remodeling projects
• Install trim, molding, doors, cabinetry, and other finish materials
• Complete framing, drywall, hardware installation, and general construction tasks as needed
• Assist with kitchen, bathroom, basement, and whole-home renovations
• Read measurements accurately and complete precise cuts and installations
• Identify project issues and communicate them to the project lead
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
• Protect customers' homes and belongings throughout construction
• Use hand and power tools safely and responsibly
• Work collaboratively with team members, subcontractors, and project leads
• Complete punch-list items and final project details
• Represent Second Stories professionally while working in customers' homes

Second Stories is seeking an experienced Remodeling Carpenter to support residential renovation projects throughout the St. Louis area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, dependable carpenter who enjoys varied remodeling work rather than performing the same task every day. You will work alongside an experienced team on finish carpentry, trim installation, general construction, repairs, and other project needs.

Compensation

• Full-time, 1099 contractor role
• Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, primarily daytime hours. Occasional overtime may be available or required based on project needs.
