The plant maintenance/mechanic position is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of facility machinery. Responsibilities include fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping, and other shop or processing duties.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prioritize safety, then quality, followed by production
• Actively participate in plant safety initiatives
• Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times
• Conduct OSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to maximize stationary equipment performance
• Fabricate, erect, and repair processing and mobile equipment
• Coordinate backlog process with Plant Manager
• Complete paperwork to maintain equipment and ensure plant operations meet Martin Marietta Materials standards
• Check, repair, or replace pumps as needed
• Maintain the maintenance truck properly
• Perform preventative maintenance services and lubrication services as per Maintenance Module
• Train and coach other employees on preventive maintenance practices
• Follow all LOTOTO procedures

Additional Qualifications:

1. Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
2. Experience with oxygen and acetylene torches
3. Arc welding experience preferred; certifications optional
4. Knowledge of power tools (electric and pneumatic) and pneumatic control systems
5. Own tools required
6. Ability to work in elevated areas (up to 80’)
7. Flexible schedule availability

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily outdoors and may involve various weather conditions—heat, cold, wet, or dry. Exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc. is possible. Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, 12-hour shifts, and Monday through Saturday schedule.
