Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Remelt employee to join our team in Bridgeville, PA. This position supports production operations while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and organized work environment.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, good organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing production needs. Manufacturing, warehouse, steel, or heavy industrial experience is preferred.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Remelt position supports daily production operations and serves as a key member of the production team. Employees are responsible for prioritizing workload, supporting equipment and material handling activities, maintaining production efficiency, and responding to operational needs.

This position will begin as a Utility role. Employees will receive training and gain experience until they meet the qualifications required to advance into the posted position title.

This position requires the ability to work with specialized computer systems, industrial equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
• Participate in required safety programs and observations.
• Support production operations and maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Prioritize workload based on production needs.
• Operate and work around forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform MIG welding as required.
• Utilize specialized computer systems and software, including OFS and hydraulic systems.
• Monitor equipment and identify potential operational issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and welding-related issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Communicate operational concerns and production information to supervision.
• Adapt to changing priorities and immediate operational needs.
• Participate in problem-solving activities and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This is a safety-sensitive position in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Employees are required to follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, health procedures, and PPE requirements.

Employees may also participate in safety incident investigations and reporting activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is performed in a heavy industrial steel manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to:

• Steel manufacturing equipment

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3 years of heavy industrial manufacturing experience preferred, or 1 year of industrial manufacturing internship experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Steel industry experience highly desired.
• MIG welding experience required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Experience using hand and power tools preferred.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Additional technical or industrial training is a plus.

SCHEDULE:

• 12-hour shifts:
  • 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• The department currently operates with two shifts and is transitioning to a three-crew schedule.
• Once the three-crew schedule is implemented, the anticipated schedule will follow:
  • 5 days on / 2 days off
  • 5 days on / 3 days off
• Employees must be flexible to work both day and night shifts. There are no permanently assigned shifts.
• Weekend and holiday work may be required.
• Overtime and extended hours may be required based on operational needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to safely work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to safely climb stairs.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around heavy equipment and moving materials.
• Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
