Job summary

Ellwood Quality Steels Company is seeking a Preparation and Finish Operator in the Remelt Department. You will support remelting operations, follow procedures, and handle electrode prep equipment in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in steel manufacturing; remote crane operation is preferred, with opportunities for growth and safety-focused training.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year experience in steel manufacturing.
• Remote crane operation experience preferred.
• Prior shipping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily duties per Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instructions.
• Wear PPE at all times.
• Operate electrode prep equipment including annealing furnaces, grinder and band saw; operate remote overhead cranes.
• Assist the Remelt Operator as needed.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections for cranes and mobile equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping in the remelting facility and stock supplies.
• Abide by all safety rules and attendance requirements.
