Job summary

Stantec’s Lombard, IL office is seeking a project geologist in our Remediation business line to support complex environmental consulting projects focused on site characterization, remediation, and brownfield revitalization for Midwest clients.

You will perform Phase I/II ESAs, intrusive site investigations, data interpretation, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geology is required.
• 3–5 years’ experience in environmental consulting.
• PG license or Fundamentals Exam is a plus but not required.
• HAZWOPER training 40 hours is preferred.
• Experience with Illinois EPA SRP/LUST/Due Diligence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee remedial activities at facilities or sites addressing chemical impacts in air, water, soil, groundwater, and sediment.
• Conduct due diligence, Phase I ESAs or other environmental projects.
• Perform intrusive site investigations, Phase II ESAs, facility investigations, and remedial investigations.
• Collect, interpret data, analyze, and compare findings to standards and regulations.
• Prepare technical reports and evaluate subsurface data.
• Contribute to design and optimization of remediation systems.
• Collaborate with other professionals within the practice.
• Coordinate projects with project managers and stay current with procedures and policies.
• Prepare health & safety plans, work plans, and other documents.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and health and safety management.
• Travel for field work, meetings, or training as needed.
