REMEDIAL CONSTRUCTION LABORER

We are seeking entry-level or experienced candidates for the position of Remedial Construction Laborer. Candidates with some construction labor experience and/or OSHA Hazwoper (40 hour) certification are a plus.

This role involves working in a construction environment around heavy equipment. It requires travel to multiple client locations across states, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and the ability to lift 50-100 lbs.

The responsibilities include learning and performing various field tasks such as soil excavation and removal, remediation system installation, demolition, and clean construction. Tasks also involve site grading, site capping, underground storage tank (UST) removals, emergency response, and chemical mixing operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist Heavy Equipment Operators with project execution in the field.
  • Perform tasks when equipment is broken down, including shoveling soil, moving drums, saw cutting, working with concrete, and heavy lifting.
  • Willingness to learn to operate heavy construction equipment such as skid steer loaders, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, and backhoes.
  • Learn to operate various equipment including air monitoring devices, lasers, concrete saws, jackhammers, drum vacuums, pressure washers, generators, trash pumps, fusion welders, cutting torches, welding equipment, air knives, compressors, forklifts, skid steers with attachments, and mini-excavators.
  • Assist in loading trucks and preparing for jobs.
  • Mobilize to and from project sites.
  • Set up jobs, complete load lists, and perform on-site work.
  • Verify utility locates are completed and properly marked before starting work.
  • Keep daily records of hours worked and expenses.
  • Adhere to safety practices, maintain safety as a top priority, and report incidents or near misses.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including Level C PPE with respirators when required.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being personable, respectful, and helpful to clients.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% as required.
