JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title
Remanufacturing Technician 2

Reports to
Production Supervisor

Essential Functions

  • Disassembly and reassembly of air compressor components.
  • Use of calipers and bore gauge, power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, semi- automatic equipment, i.e. pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultra-sonic washers.
  • Daily part changes outs for Sunnen hone machine.
  • Piston/Cylinder assembly.
  • Final assembly of locomotive air compressors (various models).
  • Final assembly testing of completed locomotive air compressors.
  • Properly filling out log sheets with before and after measurements.
  • Fill in as back-up technician as needed.
  • Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

    W ork Environment :

    The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

    Required Education and Experience

  • One to Two years of related experience.
