Job description

Join to apply for the Remanufacturing Technician 2 - 1st Shift role at New York Air Brake

This position offers a full-time role with a pay rate of $17/hr, working Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. The role reports to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Disassembly and reassembly of air compressor components.
  • Use of calipers, bore gauges, power and manual tools, including impact wrenches, drills, pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, and ultrasonic washers.
  • Daily part changes for Sunnen hone machine.
  • Piston and cylinder assembly.
  • Final assembly and testing of locomotive air compressors (various models).
  • Accurate documentation of measurements and activities in log sheets.
  • Support as a backup technician as needed.
  • Compliance with all quality, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and support of all relevant statutory and regulatory obligations.
  • Adherence to the Integrated Management System policies and KPIs.
Skills and Competencies
  • Technical skills including mechanical aptitude and proficiency with measuring devices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
Physical and Work Environment

The employee will work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, dust, and dirt. Regular physical activity including standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of related experience.
