Job summary

Caterpillar invites graduates to join a 3-year Fleet Engineer rotation program in San Diego, CA. The first year focuses on broad exposure to Solar’s products and Customer Service, followed by two years in a U.S. district office as a Fleet Engineer with a company vehicle provided for travel.

Expect heavy travel and overtime, relocation, and onsite work five days a week. The program emphasizes Controls systems and field support, with opportunities to collaborate across service centers.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Willingness to travel, relocate and work overtime.
• Strong communication and professional conduct expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers.
• Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare engineering reports and analyses for fleet reviews.
• Support alert management, preventative actions and monthly reporting.
• Assist onsite condition assessments and service bulletin compliance.
