Eliot Community Human Services, Inc. in New Bedford, MA is seeking Relief Youth Advocates for its Juvenile Justice program, which provides residential services for youth aged 13 to 21 who are court-involved and require placement.

You will support Positive Youth Development, trauma-informed care, and foster safe, inclusive environments while helping youths make healthy choices. The hourly rate is $20, with benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with population.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Use principles and practices of Positive Youth Development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
• Foster the youth’s skills and interests and mentor their positive development.
• Implement program activities that are safe and foster personal growth and healthy choices.
• Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth.
• Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills.
