Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Relief Veterinarian provides high-quality medical care to companion animals on a temporary or as-needed basis, supporting the hospital’s general practice and wellness services. This role is ideal for a licensed DVM seeking flexible scheduling while delivering compassionate, evidence-based veterinary care in a collaborative clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive wellness and preventive care, including physical exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and client education
• Diagnose and treat common medical conditions in small animals
• Perform routine soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures, as applicable to hospital standards
• Develop and implement diagnostic and treatment plans utilizing available in-house and external resources
• Accurately document medical records in accordance with hospital protocols and legal requirements
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and preventive care
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high standards of care
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and applicable state veterinary regulations

Qualifications
