Job summary

Chemtrade is hiring a Relief Tanker Driver, CDL A HAZMAT, with a base rate of $37.00 per hour and a $50 per diem for nights away from home. A $5,000 signing bonus is offered; conditions apply if leaving within 12 months.

The role requires at least two years of tractor/tanker experience and Hazmat/Tanker endorsements. Travel and lodging details are covered by the company where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
• Minimum two years of tractor/tanker experience; at least one year tanker experience.
• Clean driving record for past three years; valid medical card.

Responsibilities

• Load, transfer, and unload raw product from a tanker truck.
• Transport and unload chemicals into customers' tanks safely with required paperwork.
• Safely handle hoses during loading and unloading.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Comply with all company, customer, and regulatory rules.

Job description

$5,000 Signing Bonus for New Hires: Eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus. If employment ends voluntarily or for cause within 12 months, the full bonus is repayable within 60 days of separation.

Position: Relief Tanker Driver, CDL A HAZMAT

Primary Location: US-based, flexible location

Schedule: Full-Time Hourly

Reports To: Private Fleet Leader

Compensation: $37.00/hour USD + $50 per diem for each night away from home.

$50 per diem for every night away from home. Company-paid airfare. Comfortable hotel accommodations provided. Meals covered while traveling. Rental cars and rideshare transportation covered.

The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Specific salary details can be discussed during the hiring process. Posted compensation reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives.

In This Role, You Will:

• Load, transfer, and unload raw product from a tanker truck
• Transport and unload chemicals into customers' tanks safely and with the required paperwork
• Safely handle hoses during loading and unloading
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections
• Comply with all Company, Customer Federal, State, and Local laws, rules and regulations
• Become familiar with plant operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned

A Successful Candidate Has:

• Minimum two (2) years of recent tractor/tanker experience
• Minimum one (1) year of recent tanker experience
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License, CDL Class A, with appropriate hazmat and tanker endorsements
• A clean driving record for the past three (3) years
• Be physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle and provide a valid medical card
• Be able to provide proof of experience or training to operate the type of motor vehicle used by Chemtrade safely

Physical Occupational Requirements

• Employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)
• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be "fit for duty"
