The Relief Operator works multiple positions in the Cheese Manufacturing operation. This person will be qualified to relieve the following positions in the Cheese Manufacturing area: Table Operator, Packaging Operator, Food Sanitation Team Member. This position works 2nd shift on a rotational 2-2-3 schedule: 4:00pm to 4:00am.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move 40 lbs. blocks of cheese and may carry chemical containers weighing up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The Team Member is often exposed to extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, and occasional exposure to outside weather. They are also exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally to toxic and/or caustic chemicals used in production and cleaning. Due to loud noise levels, ear protection is required.

Tools & Protective Equipment
The Team Member may be required to work with motorized pallet trucks, elevators, pumps, pH Meters, Food Scans, thermometers, calculators, printers, copy machines, scanning equipment, recording charts, data collection computers, hovel, and sanitation equipment.
Personal protective equipment required includes safety goggles, rubber or latex gloves, lab coats, and hearing protection. Other recommended PPE includes face shields, chemical-resistant aprons, and steel-toe shoes.
