Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a production relief worker to cover breaks and absences in the plant. You will support safety policies, hygiene practices, and GMP guidelines while learning multiple production roles.

The role requires physical endurance, standing for long periods, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Overtime may be needed; strong communication and data entry into ERP are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; related post-secondary training is an asset.
• 1 year of customer service experience in a manufacturing, farming or agriculture environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Attention to detail for data entry into ERP software.
• Ability to read, write and speak proficiently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provide relief for production and intake vacancies, including coverage for employee breaks, vacation/personal time off, and absences.
• Observe all plant safety policies and procedures regarding lock out/tag out, confined space, forklift, etc.
• Follow all personal hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations, and observe all Saputo Cheese USA Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety guidelines.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Be willing to work overtime as required.
• Learn and perform the duties and responsibilities for each position on the assigned shift (does not include maintenance functions or responsibilities).
• Knowledge of Food Safety hygiene practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ability to read, write and speak in a proficient manner and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and prepare accurate documents.
• Ability to multitask, adapt and react to interruptions and production changes without losing composure and efficiency.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work other shifts occasionally.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, and maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
• Experience working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
• Physical lifting up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
• Work up to 12‑hours per day.
• Required to stand for entire shift except breaks.
• Ability to learn and perform all production jobs.

Salary

Salary Range - $27.18 - $27.68

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.
