Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate and maintain production lines in a fast-paced dairy facility. You will ensure quality and productivity while following GMP, SOP, HACCP and safety policies.

Attention to detail and teamwork are essential. This role includes performing line adjustments, minor repairs, data entry, sanitation, and documentation, with pay of $27.83 per hour plus shift differential. Hours are 2/3PM to 10/11PM; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and productivity of the line while maintaining equipment efficiency.
• Perform line adjustments, minor repairs and changeovers for proper operation.
• Maintain records and documentation accurately and neatly.
• Operate metal detectors and complete required paperwork.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure packaging meets customer specs.
• Adhere to GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP and H&S policies.

For the Machine Operator role, your responsibilities include setting up, operating, and maintaining multiple machines, ensuring high quality production, smooth operation, and proper maintenance. How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

• Ensure quality and productivity of the line while maintaining an efficient operation of equipment.
• Responsible for all adjustments, minor repairs and change overs of equipment to insure proper operation.
• Neatly, accurately, and legibly maintain all records and documentation.
• Operate metal detectors as needed, including completing required paperwork.
• Perform quality control, follow reporting and record-keeping procedures, and report problems to a supervisor.
• Monitor and oversee the overall quality of the finished product by maintaining the equipment and facility in a sanitary condition.
• Perform quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications on production sheet (price/date/label/packaging).
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
• Keep work area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
• Minimize waste and make productive use of downtime.
• Attend various mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
• Sanitize lines when needed.
• Enter data on production reports.

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experiences, Skills, and Qualifications

• Capacity to work in a manufacturing environment that includes noise, changing temperatures, standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, and maneuvering around equipment throughout the shift.
• Physical lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
• Experience working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
