Job summary

Valley-Milk-LL is seeking a cross-trained Operations team member to support raw milk receiving, wet process and dryer operations. Responsibilities include unloading tankers safely, CIP of equipment, and strict adherence to GMP/HACCP standards to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months of hands-on training, with forklift operation proficiency expected after certification.

Responsibilities

  • Raw Milk Receiving: unload tankers safely and maintain documentation; CIP tankers and silos.
  • Wet Process: operate separators, evaporators, and pasteurizers; perform quality checks and CIP.
  • Dryer: start, run, and shutdown; perform sanitation and KPI tracking; ensure GMP/HACCP compliance.
  • General: maintain clean, safe environment; follow plant and regulatory policies; document variances and losses.

Job description

Perform as a member of the Operations Team. This person will be cross-trained in various positions to include raw milk receiving, wet process, dryer process, and other aspects of the facility.Job Duties:Raw Milk Receiving DepartmentUnload tankers safely and properly while achieving minimum established targets CIP tankers and silos.Properly CIP silos and tankers maintaining time management of silos and all associated documentationLoad out cream while achieving all quality and customer requirementsComplete of all master sanitation and maintaining a clean and professional environment control lossActively seek root causes and resolution to limit product lossesPromote and adhere to all plant and regulatory policies and proceduresResponsible of ensuring all GMP, HACCP, safety and all plant, documentation and regulatory policies and procedures are complied with in the receiving areaWet Process DepartmentAdhere and follow procedures and recipes to ensure high quality products are manufacturedEnsure all product produced is within accepted specificationsResponsible for operation of wet process equipment (Start, run and shutdown Separator, Evaporator, and Cream Pasteurizer)Accurately and effectively complete all required quality checks and reportingExecute CIP of the evaporator and all associated equipmentExecute CIP of all equipment associated with evaporator performancePerform all chemical testsComplete and store all required documentsPromote and follow all plant and regulatory policies and proceduresEnsure all GMP, HACCP, safety and all plant, documentation and regulatory policies and procedures are complied with in the evaporator areaAchieve all production goals (KPI's)Report and document all reasons targets are not met Dryer DepartmentMaintain a clean and sanitary environmentPerform all master sanitationMaintain general housekeeping of the dryer areaPerform operational and system tasks required to start, run and shutdown the dryerAbility to perform hook-ups for the dryer and all associated equipmentExecute all required quality checks and reportingPerform tasks in a timely mannerPerform duties in a timely and thorough manner allowing the operator to CIP the dryer in minimal timePerform all chemical testsComplete and store all required documentsPromote and follow all plant and regulatory policies and proceduresEnsure all GMP, HACCP, safety and all plant, documentation and regulatory policies and procedures are complied with in the dryer areaAchieve all production goals (KPI's)Report and document all reasons targets are not metFollow all VM GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirementsPerform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the businessRequired Skills and Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of 6 months on the job training with experienced personnel is required in order to operate process.Adaptable and flexible to schedule change requirementsAbility to proficiently operate forklifts after receiving Lift Truck Operator training. Proficient in basic math and reading comprehension.
