Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Relief Operator to maintain the grinding system, run quality tests and support shift coverage at the Sparrows Point Cement Plant in Maryland.

You will load bulk trucks, operate heavy equipment, and collaborate with maintenance and production teams while upholding health, safety and environmental policies. Strong initiative and commitment to process improvement are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 2 years of equivalent experience.
• Associate degree is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose or correct mill operation issues independently.
• Must adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To operate the grinding system, run accurate quality tests, operate heavy equipment, loadbulk trucks, use-billing system, perform utility function or other duties as assigned for shiftcoverage. On occasion, in the absence of a shift supervisor, the relief operator will also be responsiblefor coordinating shift work as necessary or assessing plant needs, including acting as lead-hand to ensure mil operations continue.

• Perform general housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks associated with production
• Perform quality checks to ensure mill is operating within quality specifications
• Meets plant safety requirements and follows safe work practices
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Associate's Degree

Required Computer and Software Skills: The applicant must be able to use a computer and have general working knowledge, as well as ability to learn new software programs asrequired to operate programs as required to operate the mill and other essential functions.

Additional Requirements:

• The applicant must be able to take initiative to diagnose /orcorrect mill operation issues without necessarily being asked or told to do so.
• The employeemust be required to be knowledgeable of the plant process, quality and productionrequirements.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
