Job summary

WestRock Company in Stevenson, Alabama is seeking a Relief Supervisor to lead daily mill operations, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, quality, and production targets.

The role involves coaching rotating shift crews, training, troubleshooting, monitoring performance, and conducting investigations. You will coordinate with management to plan outages, manage emergency work, and uphold housekeeping and WestRock standards at the Stevenson Mill.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 10+ years related experience with HS diploma/GED.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent planning, organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
• Leadership and Motivational Skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to make decisions under upset process conditions.
• Ability to select and properly use PPE per hazards and requirements.
• Experience in a unionized location is preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Outlook, Acrobat, MS Office, EPAM and PI; willingness to learn new apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide Leadership and coaching to rotating shift operational crews.
• Facilitate training of crew members to maximize training timely.
• Facilitate trouble shooting efforts.
• Monitor workmanship and compliance with environmental, quality, safety, and WestRock standards.
• Conduct accident, near miss, and contractor investigations.
• Communicate area status, planned repairs, solutions, and safety through reports and meetings.
• Direct the shift mechanical and electrical crews.
• Plan and execute outages in the department.
• Oversee emergency work during their shift.
• Provide guidance to maintain department housekeeping.
