Job summary

Optalis Healthcare is seeking a Relief cook available 12pm-8pm to join our dietary services team. The cook prepares nutritious meals, follows menus and dietary requirements, and maintains high safety and sanitation standards in a healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of institutional food service experience. Healthcare dietary department experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure food is prepared and served at the proper temperature and time.
• Follow physician-ordered therapeutic diets and resident preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and utensils.
• Monitor food storage, rotate stock, and minimize waste.
• Support survey readiness and food safety compliance.
