Job summary

Coweta County Schools seeks a Permanent Substitute for East Coweta Middle School. The role supports instructional plans in the absence of the regular teacher, following the established curriculum and classroom procedures.

The substitute will teach according to the plans, maintain a conducive learning environment, and uphold school policies. The position runs under a 180-day calendar with a pay rate of $14.57 per hour and includes benefits for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; experience in education preferred.
• If not parapro certified, you will take the GACE or have an official transcript sent to PSC to get the Parapro certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide for the competent application of instructional plans for an assigned class of students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Meets and instructs all classes and duties normally assigned to the substitute for whom the substitute is serving.
• Follows the teacher's plans and program of study using materials and equipment provided.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Protects students, equipment, materials, and facilities; maintains order per school rules.
• Cooperates with administration and staff, and complies with directives from principals.
