Job summary

Perdue Foods is seeking a Reliability Technician I to help keep our operation running at peak efficiency on the 1st shift in North Carolina. You will use predictive maintenance technologies to monitor equipment, identify issues early, and support continuous improvement across the plant.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, plus 2-year technical training in engineering or industrial maintenance, and relevant predictive maintenance certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred for engineering or industrial maintenance.
• Predictive maintenance certifications (UA, Level I IR, Level I Vib, MLA Level I, MCA/ESA) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine predictive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Drive plant efficiency through problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Assist in diagnosing equipment issues and implement maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with Level 2 to implement maintenance plans.
• Participate in data collection and analysis to enhance maintenance practices.
• Support development of preventive maintenance plans.
• Work all required work schedules.

As a Reliability Technician I, you’ll use predictive maintenance technologies to monitor equipment and machinery and help identify issues before they impact production. You’ll contribute to improving plant efficiency through hands‑on problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives, while collaborating with team members across the organization. Schedule

1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for conducting routine predictive maintenance technologies on equipment and machinery.
• Drive overall plant efficiency through problem solving and continuous improvement and will collaborate across levels.
• Responsible for conducting routine predictive maintenance technologies on equipment and machinery.
• Help development and implement predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability.
• Assist in diagnosing equipment issues and work toward resolving them to improve overall reliability.
• Work closely with Level 2 to implement maintenance strategies.
• Participate in data collection and analysis to enhance maintenance practices.
• Support the development of preventive maintenance plans.
• Work all required work schedules.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.
• Predictive Maintenance Certifications: UA, Lvl I IR Lvl I, Vib Lvl I, MLA Lvl I, MCA/ESA Lvl Maintain Perdue Farms QEW Certification.
• 8+ Years experience in Industrial maintenance reliability, troubleshooting, problem‑solving and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or Equivalent Military Experience.
• Expert Proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, PLC, Welding and Rigging.
• Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
• Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
• Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.
• May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.

When in a plant environment:

• Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
• May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
• May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing plant.
• Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
