Job summary

KNAPP is seeking a qualified Reliability/Maintenance engineer to define standards for configuration, monitoring, and performance at our U.S. site. You will lead RCA projects and push for improvements to MTBF/MTTR while working closely with customer teams to ensure reliable service.

The role requires a degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, strong knowledge of machinery systems, and experience in project management. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Reliability concepts.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding machinery systems (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/German preferred but not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) projects and influence project initiatives.
  • Continually drive down MTBF and MTTR through improved outlier detection and root cause analysis.
  • Drive operational best practice adoption across critical services, lowering barriers to reliability.
  • Create strong relationships with customers and their agents to provide superior service.
  • Interact with on-site management and address concerns professionally.
  • Ensure reports are well written and legible.
  • Execute site quality procedures and safety procedures.

What You Get To Do
  • Define and verify standards for configuration, monitoring, reliability and performance
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) projects and influence project initiatives
  • Continually drive down Mean Time Between Failures and Mean Time to Repair through improved outlier detection and root cause analysis
  • Drive operational best practice adoption across critical services, continually looking to lower operational barriers to achieving improved reliability
  • Create strong effective working relationships with Customer and their operational agents to enable Knapp to provide superior service
  • Interact with on-site management keeping them informed and addressing their concerns in a professional manner
  • Ensure that reports are well written and legible
  • Execute site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Maintenance Shift Supervisor or Resident Site Manager or Site Maintenance Manager to discuss activities and progress, unless there is no on-site accountability in which case you would provide that information to the Resident Business Manager
  • Ensure that all time sheets and documents are accurate and legible; to be submitted to Knapp on biweekly basis for approval
  • Ability to work against a timeframe
  • Ability to appreciate health & safety considerations with regard to given tasks and to carry out risk assessments
  • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read assembly drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with both internal and external Customers
  • Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing role requirements
  • Appreciation of cultural diversity
What You Have
  • Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Reliability concepts
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding of machinery systems, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and or (English/German) preferred but not required
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Talent and commitment to provide a unique interpretation or analysis of our systems to customers
  • Process-oriented mentality
  • Theoretical and operational experience in the operation of PLC-based machinery, highly automated, and robotic equipment and control systems
  • Network equipment interfaces, a plus
  • Hands-on experience and a team player committed to improve processes
  • Experience in reducing costs through processes and efficiencies
Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Overtime as required by work
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Occasional travel maybe required
  • Professional office etiquette is required at all times
  • Physical requirements may include: sitting, squatting, walking, reaching out to arm’s length, reaching over-head, lifting between 50-100 pounds, and reading
