Job summary

Century Aluminum Company in Robards, KY is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to improve reliability and performance of mechanical systems across the facility. The role blends hands-on plant work with data analysis, drawings, and maintenance systems.

You will lead RCFA investigations, optimize preventive programs, and coordinate major repairs while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. A strong background in mechanical engineering and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or reliability role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment and power transmission.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems; reading P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mechanical maintenance activities across the plant.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Analyze equipment failures and lead RCFA efforts.
• Support planning of major repairs, overhauls, and shutdowns.
• Review equipment performance and recommend improvements to reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to enhance safety and availability.
• Maintain maintenance documentation, procedures, and BOMs.
• Assist with spare parts strategy, vendor coordination, and evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage capital and major maintenance projects as needed.
