Responsible for maximizing asset life cycle performance, and increasing asset and system reliability related to water treatment / distribution and waste water treatment / collection. Core responsibilities to include performing condition monitoring of critical assets and diagnostic
analysis of complex data to minimize life cycle cost of assets. Provide guidance and support for Root Cause Failure Analysis and restoration of critical assets during normal and emergency events.
Key Accountabilities
- Facilitate and/or perform preventive condition monitoring, predictive diagnostics and failure analysis of specific assets within areas of competency.
- Assist with evaluating new techniques or technological advancements.
- For assets within area of competency, perform quality assurance acceptance testing during the commissioning of new facilities, plant equipment or process systems.
- Must supervise and direct the activities of the assigned local personnel and contract personnel assisting with the performance of diagnostic testing, while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Plan, schedule and perform work activities independently in a self- directed environment.
- Provide emergency support to company facilities in the event of a major electrical, mechanical or hydraulic equipment failure or natural catastrophes and geophysical events.
- Utilize technical knowledge and skills to provide support for diagnostics and maintaining of critical assets, which includes on-call, as well as during normal hours of operation.
- Efficient and effective application of the Enterprise Asset Management System in the daily planning, processing and the tracking of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Identifies, assesses and classifies hazards, and jointly develops protective measures and practices that avoid injury. These measures include eliminating hazardous processes or practices, implementing administrative controls and using personal protective equipment
- Prepare, review, maintain and update asset records and drawings within area of responsibility.
- Assist with the implementation of assigned local maintenance programs equipment and or systems to ensure proper operation andmaintenance.
- Provide training to the company employees on water and wastewater employee safety as it relates to daily operations.
- Provide local operations with asset and/or process health ratings to aid in the creation of their capital budgets for replacement of water or wastewater processes and equipment.
- Participate in the support of Regulated and Non-Regulated Business Development functions to evaluate the asset or system condition utilizing specialized knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems within area of competency.
- Effectively communicate by regularly soliciting and providing constructive feedback.
- Cascade and share specialized knowledge relevant to other team members and colleagues across the business.
- Work collaboratively with other functional leads to mitigate business risks.
- Prepare, maintain, review and update technical reports.
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changes in priority efficiently.
- Demonstrate the ability to use proprietary vendor or standard business software to create professional reports for all condition monitoring and predictive and preventive maintenance activities conducted.

- Possess and maintain Level II certifications in the asset condition monitoring technologies of infrared thermography and vibration data analysis.
- Master and demonstrate the skill set to safely and effectively perform the asset condition monitoring technologies of ultrasonic inspection and motor winding analysis.
- Master and demonstrate advanced level of knowledge and competency in asset condition monitoring assessment and diagnostic technologies utilizing, lubrication and insulation oil analysis, electrical relay and transformer testing, wire-to-water pump efficiency testing, stationary battery testing and power quality analysis diagnostic test results.
- Have knowledge of and the ability to review and analyze various.
- Possess an understanding of engineering design concepts and their application in an industrial environment.
- Proficient Level with business application software, Microsoft Office products and productivity tools (e.g. MS Word, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes).
- Be capable of obtaining Level I training and certification in Ultrasound Analysis.
Experience/Education
- Four year Engineering Technology degree preferred.
- Associates degree or technical school equivalent plus additional experience and/or certifications and other education and training may be substituted for formal education.
- Minimum four years of experience in reliability focused maintenance, failure analysis, diagnostic technologies, repair, installation & commissioning of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic industrial equipment, (e.g. motors, pumps, variable frequency drives, low and medium voltage equipment, transformers and other critical production assets).
- Operating Facilities – Multi District State Coverage Area.
- May require “on-call” off hours support during evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
