Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Reliability Engineer to work remotely in the midwest!
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving equipment reliability and performance improvements across all facilities. This role focuses on predictive maintenance, root cause failure analysis, and continuous improvement programs to optimize asset longevity, reduce downtime, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Additionally, the Reliability Engineer will establish equipment criticality rankings to prioritize maintenance efforts effectively.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
• Develop and lead predictive maintenance strategies using technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and oil analysis
• Conduct root cause failure analyses (RCFA) to eliminate recurring issues and improve asset performance
• Establish and maintain equipment criticality rankings to guide maintenance prioritization and risk management
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize preventive maintenance procedures based on data and field performance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency
• Utilize data analytics to identify trends, detect failure patterns, and uncover opportunities for reliability gains
• Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices across facilities and ensure alignment with operational goals
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate program effectiveness and guide strategic decisions
• Provide technical training and support to engineering and maintenance staff on reliability tools and methodologies
• Assist in capital planning and equipment selection by analyzing lifecycle costs and reliability metrics
• Partner with engineering and production teams to integrate reliability-focused improvements into system design and upgrades
• Standardize equipment specifications and practices across sites to ensure consistency, maintainability, and cost efficiency
• Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to procure reliable, cost-effective equipment that meets operational requirements
• Research and implement emerging technologies, materials, and processes that extend equipment life and performance
• Communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of technicians, engineers, and operators
• Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving drive, bringing energy and excitement to technically challenging work
• Maintain reliable attendance, arriving on time and ready to contribute
• Take ownership of additional duties as needed to support Company goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned
This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent is a plus
• 5+ years of reliability or maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Proven track record in predictive and preventive maintenance, RCFA, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Hands-on familiarity with CMMS systems, reliability data analysis tools, and condition monitoring technologies
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with maintenance, production, engineering, and vendors
• Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test
• Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying temperatures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Compensation for this role is between $105,000 - $135,000 annually
• This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
• This role requires approximately 30% travel to support Sedron facilities
• In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
Preference will be given to candiates located in IN, WI, IA, NE, IL, OH, KS
