Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior cloud/infrastructure professional to own the availability and performance of cloud platforms and services. You will monitor, respond to incidents, and ensure production meets security, logging, and uptime requirements.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years in enterprise cloud environments, an Active Secret clearance, IAT-2 and cloud certifications, and experience with regulated environments and secure engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud or infrastructure environments.
• Certifications: IAT-2 and 1+ cloud certifications.
• Active Secret clearance (or higher).
• Experience in regulated environments with secure engineering/documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cloud platforms and services are available, performant, and monitored with incident response.
• Ensure production work adheres to diagrams, dependencies, monitoring/logging, backups and high-availability plans.
• Address uncaught exceptions, hardware degradation, networking problems, high resource usage, and slow responses.
• Use metrics such as MTTR and MTTF to guide improvements.
• Serve as an emerging authority applying extensive technical expertise.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Exercise latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Job description

• Responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response, among other things, of the cloud platforms and services.
• Ensure that everything that goes to production complies with a set of general requirements like diagrams, dependencies of other services, monitoring and logging plans, backups and possible high availability setups.
• Manages uncaught exceptions, hardware degradation, networking problems, high usage of resources, or slow responses that could happen at any time.
• Uses metrics such as mean time to recover (MTTR) and mean time to failure (MTTF).
• Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise.
• Develops technical solutions to complex problems.
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.
• Certifications: IAT-2, 1 or more cloud certifications.
• Active Secret clearance (or higher).
• Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering / documentation practices.
