We are seeking an experienced Reliability Supervisor to provide reliability engineering leadership and support for mechanical and electrical systems within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
This role is focused on improving equipment performance, reducing repetitive failures, and strengthening maintenance effectiveness through preventive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment criticality, CMMS data integrity, and risk-based reliability strategies.
The Reliability Supervisor will work closely with Maintenance Planner-Schedulers, mechanical and electrical maintenance personnel, storeroom teams, engineering, and plant leadership to improve asset reliability, equipment availability, and long-term maintenance performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Planner-Schedulers, ensuring maintenance strategies, job plans, and schedules align with reliability and operational objectives.
- Develop, refine, and optimize the area Preventive Maintenance program, including equipment-specific failure mode mitigation strategies.
- Adjust preventive maintenance frequencies using equipment history and performance data to improve reliability while avoiding unnecessary or excessive maintenance.
- Collaborate with Condition Monitoring personnel to support implementation of mechanical and electrical predictive / condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Ensure corrective work identified through condition monitoring is properly planned, scheduled, and executed.
- Lead the area Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) program, facilitating investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Track and report the progress and effectiveness of corrective actions associated with equipment failures.
- Conduct Bad Actor Analysis using maintenance history, equipment performance, failure rates, and other available data to identify recurring equipment problems.
- Develop and oversee improvement plans for chronic equipment issues, including equipment redesign, maintenance strategy changes, repair improvements, or replacement recommendations.
- Monitor and analyze production equipment reliability data using modern analytical techniques to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of CMMS equipment data, including functional locations, equipment structures, and master data.
- Support effective maintenance planning, asset management, and reliability initiatives through strong CMMS practices.
- Ensure critical spare parts are properly identified, specified, and maintained.
- Collaborate with maintenance and storeroom personnel to align spare-parts inventory with equipment reliability strategies and operational needs.
- Support development of maintenance strategies, equipment structures, and spare-parts requirements for new or modified equipment prior to commissioning.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, installation teams, storeroom personnel, and other departments during equipment implementation and improvement projects.
- Promote open communication among Planner-Schedulers, maintenance teams, reliability personnel, engineering, and operations.
- Help standardize reliability and maintenance practices across the assigned area.
- Conduct compliance and process audits and identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency and reliability performance.
- Stay current with emerging reliability technologies, maintenance software, equipment technologies, and industry best practices through professional development, vendors, technical resources, and continuing education.
