Job summary

Zoox is seeking a release engineering expert to own end-to-end release work across vehicle software components and cloud services. You will drive branch management, validation, and production deployment while shaping automation and tooling that scales.

You will collaborate with product, QA, and downstream teams to ensure smooth, dependable releases. The role emphasizes building reusable release processes, improving visibility, and delivering fast feedback loops to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in release engineering, build engineering, or release management for large, complex software products.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Git, including branch management and conflict resolution.
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Buildkite, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
• Programming experience in Python or another scripting language, including automating release or build workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

Job description

At Zoox, the release teams handle the complex orchestration of releases spanning vehicle, cloud, and client code bases. From first commit to full production, our mission is to make every release predictable, transparent, and fast. We build the tooling and automation that improves the release lifecycle for our own teams and for teams across Zoox. We are seeking a technical expert in version control, continuous integration, and build systems who is equally comfortable driving a release end to end and engineering the systems that streamline it. You will work closely with our customers, from the teams whose components we release to the downstream consumers of each build, translating their needs into a better release experience and serving as a force multiplier within our team and beyond.

$140,000 - $190,000 a year

Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
