Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking experienced Relay Technicians for a nationwide traveling role supporting projects across the Industrial, Data Center, Power, and Oil & Gas markets. You will perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protective relaying and electrical power systems in diverse field environments.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Relay Technician, Electrical Testing Technician, Commissioning Technician, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of protective relaying and electrical testing.
  • Experience with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
  • Experience using relay test equipment and performing electrical testing procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protective relaying and electrical power systems.
  • Test and commission protective relays, breakers, CTs, PTs, and associated control systems.
  • Perform functional and operational testing of electrical equipment and substations.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot protection and control systems and resolve issues in the field.
  • Complete detailed testing documentation and reports.
  • Work alongside project managers, engineers, clients, and field personnel.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and technical accuracy.

We are partnered with a growing electrical services organization that is actively expanding its electrical testing and commissioning business across the Industrial, Data Center, Power, and Oil & Gas markets.

This is a traveling position supporting projects throughout the United States. The company is looking for experienced Relay Technicians with strong protective relaying and electrical testing experience who are looking for top-end compensation and the opportunity to grow with an expanding business.

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protective relaying and electrical power systems
