Job summary

AES Indiana Relay/SCADA Technician position is open to install, test, maintain and remove protective relay, communication and SCADA equipment at substations, power plants and customer locations.

The candidate must have an Associate of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, 4+ years of electrical maintenance experience, and the ability to obtain an Indiana Driver's License. Apprenticeship program participation is required, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Advanced working knowledge of electricity and electronics.
• 4+ years electrical/electronic maintenance experience.
• AS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology required.
• Must obtain Indiana driver’s license.
• Must pass EEI Tech Test and related assessments.
• Must enroll in Relay/SCADA Apprenticeship.
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
• Ability to read schematics and control diagrams.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, modify, maintain and remove all protective relay, associated communication and SCADA equipment.
• Read and interpret relay and control schematics and diagrams.
• Work with other employees to install and troubleshoot communication channels.
• Train less experienced personnel on technical aspects of their job.
• Perform field engineering tasks and produce necessary drawings and reports.
