Job description

The Relationship Development Officer is responsible for cultivating and strengthening relationships with referral sources to generate fiduciary business opportunities. This role involves serving as a primary contact for referral partners and prospective clients, representing the organization at community and industry events, and supporting business development strategies with professionalism and integrity. The position emphasizes building trust-based relationships aligned with core values and contributing to the organization’s legacy of providing exceptional financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with Centers of Influence, including attorneys, CPAs, financial professionals, and other referral sources, to generate fiduciary business opportunities.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for referral partners and prospective fiduciary clients.
  • Participate in community, professional, and industry events to increase market visibility and strengthen referral networks.
  • Lead the RFP process when needed, collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality proposals and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with Trust Officers, Wealth Advisors, and other team members to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate introductions and referrals between prospective clients and Wealth Advisors as appropriate.
  • Support fiduciary business development efforts, responding to time-sensitive referral situations.
  • Educate referral sources and prospects on trust, estate, fiduciary, and wealth management solutions.
  • Maintain professionalism and expertise in fiduciary services, trust administration, and wealth management offerings.
  • Document and track referral activities and relationship development efforts.
  • Serve as a strategic resource and advocate for Trust & Wealth services within the organization and community.
  • Ensure actions are driven by integrity, caring, and excellence to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in developing professional referral networks and Centers of Influence.
  • Strong knowledge of fiduciary services, trust administration, estate planning, and wealth management concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across multiple business units.
  • Strong presentation and networking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in trust, fiduciary, private banking, wealth management, or estate planning environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CTFA, CFP, CFA, JD, CPA, or similar credentials.
  • Established network of professional referral sources within the market.
