The Relationship Banker is responsible for providing sales, solutions, service, and transaction support for all consumer and business customers. They engage in financial conversations to identify customer needs, deepen relationships, and recommend appropriate solutions. The role involves creating an exceptional customer experience from greeting to fulfillment and supporting Bank strategy through sales and solution activities.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide a best-in-class customer experience by accurately processing transactions and opening new accounts promptly and professionally.
  2. Proactively conduct financial conversations to identify banking needs and match them with BankNewport solutions.
  3. Meet individual and branch sales goals through customer interactions, prospecting, and community activities, including understanding and participating in the Retail Incentive Plan.
  4. Market a full range of banking services to existing customers and prospects.
  5. Open accounts, originate and close loans, perform account maintenance, and resolve customer inquiries and problems.
  6. Utilize the customer relationship management system and onboarding processes effectively to enhance customer experience.
  7. Demonstrate ownership of customer issues, follow up to ensure resolution, and provide guidance on digital banking services.
  8. Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  9. Support supervisory responsibilities as assigned, including branch operations and audits, with a performance rating of 3 or above.
  10. Process ATM work or vault cash as needed and provide flexible coverage during branch hours.
  11. Complete required training and perform related duties as necessary.
  12. Meet all SAFE Act requirements, including background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier from NMLS.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience as a teller, banker, or in retail sales/banking; customer service experience preferred.
  • At least 6 months of cash handling experience.
  • Proficiency with technology and digital banking services, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with tablets and smartphones.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well in a team.
