SompoRe in New York, NY is offering a 10-week Reinsurance Underwriting Intern program on our Professional Lines team. The internship provides on-the-job learning, mentoring, leadership sessions, and a capstone project presentation to management.

You will gain exposure to underwriting philosophy, assist with new and renewal business, analyze accounts, and participate in market research and product development initiatives.

Qualificações

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program studying Risk Management, Finance, or related major.
• Interest in learning reinsurance contract and language skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with changing priorities.
• Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Eligible to work in the United States without restriction (18+).
• Local to NYC area or able to provide housing/transportation.

Responsabilidades

• Gain solid understanding of the Company’s underwriting philosophy.
• Assist in underwriting process for new and renewal business.
• Assist with account processing.
• Analyze and research current and proposed accounts; assist in market trend analysis and prepare underwriters for meetings and audits.
• Participate in intern program projects and department initiatives.
• Contribute to market analysis, line of business research, and product development.
• Accompany underwriters during internal meetings and occasional external marketing calls.
• Assist the team with special projects.
