Job summary

SIHO is seeking a Reinsurance/Ancillary Specialist in Columbus, IN to manage reinsurance recovery claims, short-term disability processing, and subrogation support. You will coordinate with carriers, auditors, and internal teams to file claims, reconcile data, and improve workflows.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to handle high-volume claims across multiple accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Insurance industry experience preferred; reinsurance, stop loss, or subrogation experience is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret reinsurance language and identify trends.
• Proficiency with Excel to reconcile data and build reports.
• Familiarity with SIHO's core processing systems and reinsurance platforms (Ringmaster or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Monitor paid claims by member to determine when a reinsurance recovery claim should be filed.
• Identify current and potential reinsurance cases by routing claims to the reinsurance queue.
• File reimbursement requests and Advanced Funding claims with reinsurers promptly.
• Notify reinsurers of deductible situations and large claims as applicable.
• Perform claims reconciliation across SIHO systems and reinsurance platforms.
• Respond to carrier/auditor requests within set turnaround times.
• Support onboarding of new reinsurance accounts and coordinate data setup.
• Process short-term disability claims weekly and verify eligibility and benefits.
• Work with subrogation vendor to identify and track recovery cases.
• Develop workflow documentation for subrogation and short-term disability processes.
• Maintain relationships with SIHO departments and external vendors.
