Job summary

Prosperity Life Group, LLC is seeking a Reinsurance Specialist in Austin, TX to oversee daily reinsurance operations, support claims recovery, and ensure accurate reporting and data management. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, a Bachelor's degree, and experience with Excel, SQL, and reporting tools.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external reinsurers to optimize processes.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of insurance and/or business experience involving actuarial, analytical, or mathematical business analysis.
  • Knowledge of life insurance products and terminology.
  • Familiarity with reinsurance processes and claims administration.
  • Experience with SQL, VBA, Access, or related analytical tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end reinsurance processes and reporting requirements.
  • Perform technical calculations and analyses in support of reinsurance and business activities.
  • Compile, validate, and maintain data used in reporting and operational processes.
  • Assist in preparing management reports and other recurring business reporting.
  • Support ad hoc financial and operational reporting requests.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist with testing of new products, system functionality, and software upgrades.
  • Help maintain the integrity and effectiveness of databases, administrative systems, and reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from internal business partners and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in resolving questions related to reinsurance administration, claims, products, and reporting.
  • Effectively utilize company systems, data sources, and administrative tools to support business needs.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Reinsurance Specialist to support the administration and oversight of reinsurance operations across the organization. This role serves as a key partner in managing day-to-day reinsurance activities, supporting claims recovery efforts, and ensuring the accuracy of reinsurance reporting and data management processes.

The ideal candidate combines analytical skills, attention to detail, and insurance industry knowledge with a strong customer-service mindset. This position offers the opportunity to work across reinsurance administration, reporting, systems enhancements, and product support while partnering with internal stakeholders and external reinsurance partners.

What You’ll Do
Reinsurance Administration & Operations
  • Administer daily reinsurance activities and support ongoing reinsurance operations

What You Bring
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred
  • 2+ years of insurance and/or business experience involving actuarial, analytical, or mathematical business analysis
  • Knowledge of life insurance products and terminology
  • Familiarity with reinsurance processes and claims administration
  • TAI experience
  • Progress toward ARA designation (including completion of LOMA coursework)
  • Experience with SQL, VBA, Access, or related analytical tools
