Job summary

Hoffman Steel Services, Inc. seeks an Ironworker to construct, erect, install, and repair concrete reinforcing structures using hand and power tools in outdoor environments.

You will study blueprints to determine material types and dimensions, select reinforcing grades, and follow layouts with levels and lasers. You’ll work with bending tools, welding where required, and participate in Hoffman's safety program and union activities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass Pre-Employment & Regular Drug Tests.
• Must wear fall protection equipment and be able to climb ladders.
• Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs steel reinforcing structures per plans and codes.
• Studies blueprints or building plans for material and dimension details.
• Selects steel reinforcing grades/types as required.
• Prepares layout using tape measures, squares, levels, and lasers.
• Marks cutting/assembly lines on materials and assembles reinforcing pieces.
• Installs materials to specified measurements using bending tools and welds when specified.
• Participates in safety program meetings and safety walks.
• Belongs to local union hall.
