Rehabilitation Therapy Aide - Physical Therapy

City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Phoenix.

The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant provides patient care support in accordance with relevant laws and regulations for occupational, physical, or speech therapy, or activity coordination. Responsibilities include assisting rehabilitation therapists with therapy services, ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment, and managing supplies necessary for patient treatment and care.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Provide patient-related tasks under the order, direction, and immediate supervision of a licensed/certified rehabilitation therapist
• Assist the licensed/certified therapist in performing patient-related tasks such as observation of the patient, transport of patients, physical support during gait or transfer training, demonstration of proper exercise or activity technique, and non-patient-related tasks such as housekeeping duties, clerical duties, and similar functions.
• Responsible for data management, including data input, maintenance of database, and data reporting as required
• Interact effectively both inter- and intra-departmentally on a regular basis for planning and coordination

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
• 0-1 year experience in an acute care setting as a rehabilitation therapy aide or equivalent
• On-the-job training
• BLS - American Heart Association certification
• Hourly Per Diem Rate: $30.8784/hr
