Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking a Rehabilitation Tech to join our patient-centered therapy team. Under supervision, you’ll assist therapists, observe patient progress, and support activities that promote independence and recovery.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, and experience as a Therapist Aide or CNA. You’ll work days and contribute to a compassionate, community-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Experience as Therapist Aide, CNA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical assistance to therapists during patient care and seek clarification as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Clean equipment per procedures and follow infection control guidelines.
• Log temperatures for refrigerators/equipment and report out-of-range readings.
• Follow supervisor/therapist schedules and adapt to changes.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and distribute to appropriate areas.
• Perform clerical/administrative duties such as greeting and transporting patients.

Your Everyday

• Provide physical assistance to therapists when providing patient care, seeking clarification on instructions as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment for everyone.
• Clean equipment per recommended procedures and follows established infection control guidelines.
• Log temperatures as appropriate on refrigerator, freezer hydrocollator and paraffin units, notifying biomed and supervisor when temperatures are out of range.
• Follow the schedule provided by supervisor and therapist.
• Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with unanticipated schedule changes or departmental needs.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, monitor supply levels, and distribute supplies to appropriate areas
• Perform clerical/administrative duties such as greeting, guiding and transporting patients.

The Must-Haves

Minimum

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent or appropriate work experience is required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience as a Therapist Aide, CNA or equivalent is required.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, Therapy or related field is preferred
• Non-Violent Crisis Prevention from the Crisis Prevention Institute is preferred.
