Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to support treatment programs and provide basic day care for patients. This role involves preparing patients, assisting therapists, and maintaining clinical areas and equipment.

You will also handle inventory, infection control, and clerical tasks, contributing to a compassionate, team-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma and 1 year of related health care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• 1 year of experience as a physical therapy aide, occupational therapy aide, or related health care experience preferred.
• Understanding of growth and development of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Strong communication skills in verbal, non-verbal and written form.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatments or evaluation and assist them to undress and don garments or treatment aids.
• Move and transfer patients to and from the department with wheelchair or stretcher.
• Assist therapist in direct patient care activities and during treatment sessions.
• Conduct therapeutic regimes including self-care activities training and gait exercises.
• Observe patients and report changes to supervising nurse or therapist.
• Fabricate equipment adaptations and maintain equipment inventory.
• Maintain clinic area, perform infection control procedures, and manage supplies.
• Provide clerical support and assist with medical records retrieval.
• Clean and maintain SRAlab rental wheelchairs and manage deliveries/stores of supplies.
