Job summary

Children’s Clinics for Rehabilitative Services is seeking a qualified Rehab Department assistant to support clinicians and therapists in pediatric care. You will transport equipment, prepare therapy spaces, manage communications, and help create materials for therapy sessions across onsite and home visits.

The role emphasizes patient safety, confidentiality, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced pediatric setting. BLS and fingerprint clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology preferred.
  • Bilingual helpful.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists in preparation for therapy appointments and transport equipment.
  • Support administrative tasks: calls, faxes, emails, scheduling, vendor communications.
  • Create patient therapeutic materials for onsite or home sessions as directed.
  • Maintain rooms, inventory, and cleanliness; process device repairs and credits.
  • Provide video/photo services during assessments and treatments as assigned.
  • Support clinical providers during examinations and pediatric development activities.

SUMMARYThis position is responsible for assisting providers in the Rehabilitation Department with patient care tasks. Maintains the environment of care and assists in management of Rehab Department paperwork as assigned. This position will directly support the audiology department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssists therapists in preparation for therapy appointments by transporting necessary equipment to treatment room as directedAssist with administrative tasks such as patient phone calls, faxes, emails, scheduling, communicating with vendors or other tasks as neededCreate patient therapeutic materials for onsite therapies or home sessions, per clinician recommendationsMaintain cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory of treatment rooms and storage areasProcessing broken assistive devices or equipment and send items for repair; completing claims for lost or damaged devices; processing return for creditsAssumes responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe environment of care in the Rehab Department treatment areas as assignedProvides video and photography services, as assigned by therapists, during patient assessments and treatmentsPerforms basic adjustments, modifications and repairs to mechanical therapy equipment, ambulation aids and adaptive equipmentPerforms other duties as required and assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of basic trouble-shooting techniques for patient equipmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software skillsSkill in performing car seat evaluation/fitting and installation (CPS certified) if applicableSkill in the removal and applications of casts if applicableAbility to maintain confidentiality of patient, personnel, and corporate dataAbility to effectively manage time with a proven ability to meet deadlines; organization and attention to detailAbility to provide support services to clinical providers during the examination, treatment, social and/or vocational development of the pediatric patientAbility to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-volume and fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with patients, their families, clinic staff and community membersAbility to operate personal computer and related office equipment as needed to perform job functionEducation:High School diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredSuccessful completion of upper level diet and nutrition course and/or completion of Dietetic Tech Registration program if supporting Registered DietitiansBachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Audiology, or related field preferred if supporting Speech/Audiology teamExperience:At least one year in related field and/ or experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Bilingual a plusLicenses and Certificates:BLS certification requiredFINGERPRINT CLEARANCEEmployees are required to maintain a current Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
