Job summary

Grove Park Healthcare Center in East Orange, NJ is seeking a compassionate Rehabilitation Technician to join our dedicated rehabilitation team. You will assist licensed therapists and therapy assistants, prepare treatment areas, and help reposition and support residents during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort at every step.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions from licensed staff, work as part of team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality and compassion with residents and family.
• Basic computer skills
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed therapists and therapy assistants with patient care activities as directed and within scope of role.
• Prepare treatment areas, therapy equipment, supplies and adaptive devices before patient sessions.
• Escort, transport and safely position patients for therapy sessions, including assisting with wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility devices.
• Support patients during therapeutic exercises and activities under direct supervision of licensed staff.
• Maintain patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety throughout therapy services.
• Observe and report patient tolerance, concerns or changes in condition to supervising therapist or appropriate clinical staff.
• Clean, disinfect, organize and maintain therapy equipment, treatment areas, gyms and storage spaces according to infection control and facility standards.
• Restock supplies and notify the appropriate team member when equipment or inventory needs attention.
• Assist with clerical and administrative tasks, including scheduling support, filing, therapy logs, patient tracking and documentation preparation as assigned.
• Promote a positive rehabilitation experienceby welcoming patients, answering basic questions and directing clinical questions to licensed staff.

Rehabilitation Technician Job Description:

The Rehabilitation Technician works under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Director to assist licensed therapists and therapy assistants with patient care activities as directed to help residents in their rehabilitation journey.
