Job summary

Northwell Health in Glen Head, NY seeks an entry-level patient transport support to assist therapists and prepare patients for treatment.

You will transport patients, help with transfers, keep equipment clean, and support the department's daily operations.

The role requires a High School diploma and 0-1 year experience; training is provided to ensure ADA-compliant service.

Responsibilities

• Positions patients for treatment and assists in transfers.
• Assembles equipment and supplies for use.
• Performs general duties such as taking messages and basic data entry.
• Transports equipment and supplies as needed.
• Assists in workshops as required.
• Performs related duties as required; all essential functions per ADA.

Job Responsibility

• Prepares patients for treatment by therapist; assists therapists during therapy.
• Transports patients, independently, to and from department using stretcher or wheelchair.
• Maintains equipment and working area in clean, orderly condition.
• Assists professional staff in ordering supplies; orders linens and maintains linen closet in a neat and orderly condition.
• Places patients in position for treatment and assists in transfers.
• Assembles and places equipment and supplies for use.
• Performs a variety of duties essential to the function of the department such as taking messages, entering and retrieving basic information into/from computer, performing messenger duties, etc.
• Transports equipment and supplies.
• Assists in workshops, as required.
