Job summary

Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. As a rehabilitation nurse, you will assess patients, develop and implement nursing interventions, and support recovery from stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and orthopedic conditions.

This PRN role offers a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, 8-hour shifts, and weekend/holiday coverage, with flexible scheduling and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• RN with MS licensure in Mississippi.
• Current BLS is required.
• CRRN and ACLS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify individual patient needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions based on patient condition and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care throughout the rehabilitation stay.
• Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, self-care, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the EMR.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and nursing best practices.
• Promote a safe, healing environment that supports patient recovery and independence.
