The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) is a key division of Louisiana Works managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) assists persons with disabilities in their desire to obtain, maintain, or advance in competitive integrated employment and achieve independence in their communities by providing rehabilitation services and working cooperatively with businesses and other community resources.
Position
This Rehabilitation Counselor-Entry/Counselor position is responsible for performing casework within a caseload, utilizing skills and techniques that enable a person with a disability to successfully interface with their total environment in the community and obtain, maintain, and advance in employment. Travel may be required for this position and must be performed as needed.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, administrative services, therapy services, or nursing; OR
A bachelor’s degree in a rehabilitation field, a social sciences field, social work, education, nursing, health and human services, speech therapy, or business administration; OR
A master’s degree.
